וַיִּשְׁלַח֩ הָאֱלֹהִ֨ים ׀ מַלְאָ֥ךְ ׀ לִֽירוּשָׁלִַם֮ לְהַשְׁחִיתָהּ֒ וּכְהַשְׁחִ֗ית רָאָ֤ה יְהוָה֙ וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם עַל־הָֽרָעָ֔ה וַיֹּ֨אמֶר לַמַּלְאָ֤ךְ הַמַּשְׁחִית֙ רַ֔ב עַתָּ֖ה הֶ֣רֶף יָדֶ֑ךָ וּמַלְאַ֤ךְ יְהוָה֙ עֹמֵ֔ד עִם־גֹּ֖רֶן אָרְנָ֥ן הַיְבוּסִֽי׃ (ס)
Allah mengutus seorang malaikat ke Yerusalem untuk membinasakannya. Ketika malaikat itu sedang membinasakan, Yang Mahakekal melihatnya, lalu Ia mengurungkan malapetaka itu. Ia berfirman kepada malaikat pembinasa itu: “Sudah cukup! Sekarang turunkanlah tanganmu.” Ketika itu malaikat Yang Mahakekal sedang berdiri dekat tempat pengirikan Ornan, orang Yebus.

וירף ממנו, “so he released him;” the angel released. We also find the word הרף applied to an angel in Chronicles I 21,15 ויאמר למלאך המשחית רב עתה הרף ידך, “He said to the angel of destruction: Enough!, now release your hand!” This occurred after Tziporah had removed her son’s foreskin.
